Katie, Andy and all our pets would like to welcome you to their welsh luxury farmhouse and donkey sanctuary, situated in an isolated, elevated position with splendid views of the Teifi valley. Luxurious rooms and friendly hospitality make Happy Donkey Hill the perfect base to explore West Wales. Do as much or as little as you like, from white water rafting and gorge walking to snoozy lie-ins and boozy lunches!
We have three cottages: The Dairy (sleeps up to 11), The Stables (aimed at couples) and Millers Cottage (sleeps 4). We also have a gym, 2 eight seater hot tubs and 3 B&B rooms available, one super king size with ensuite facilities and 2 large double rooms sharing a magnificent bathroom with full size bath and a separate shower. Housetrained dogs that are good with other animals are most welcome and all diets from vegans and celiacs to gourmet foodies are catered for. House-wide Wi-fi access and evening meals by request. Wherever possible we use locally sourced organic produce. Ample parking is available, with storage for bikes, boots, fishing tackle, canoes, trailers and even stabling for your horses if required! (sorry no children under 14) We aim to beat the rest on price and experience!
We are only 1 mile from Llandysul Paddlers canoe centre. A bit of comfort for the guests who don’t mind doing the rough stuff all day but need to recuperate at night!

Gilwen in Llandysul
Only a quarter of a mile from our Centre. There are spectacular southerly Teifi valley views from this chalet bungalow. Gilwen is situated along a quiet lane on the outskirts of Llandysul, with easy access to all the facilities of the town including a selection of pubs and eating places. The sports centre and swimming pool are nearby and the area is good for walking and cycling. The lovely beaches of beautiful Cardigan bay are 20 minutes away. Other features: Digital TV, good for walkers, great views, king size bed, near golf course, walk to pub and Llandysul Paddlers canoe centre.
Gilwen can accommodate four to five and has been professionally converted to provide a roomy and comfortable self-contained annexe, which is tastefully furnished. Outside there are plenty of parking spaces for cars alongside the cottage.

A recently converted stone barn
This cottage ideally suits a couple wanting to get away from it all. It is set on a small working farm in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Teifi Valley and some 12 miles from the coast, a peaceful and eco friendly retreat. Can sleep up to 4 adults and two children with a travel cot available. Well behaved pets are welcome. The surrounding area offers many attractions to the walker, bird watcher, fisherman and country lover, such as the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Cennarth Falls and Poppet Sands (which allows dogs), Llandysul Canoe Centre, and the Starlight Riding School.
The Farm is run on organic principles and keeps sheep, cattle, a couple of ponies, free range chickens and a sheepdog. We are about 2 miles from the market town of Newcastle Emlyn with its lovely range of independent shops and the ruins of a castle which is open to the public. The beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay is about 12 miles away with its numerous sandy coves and impressive rock outcrops from which can be seen various seabirds and sometimes dolphins and seals.
The cottage has solar water heating and a wood burning stove. Fuel and electricity are provided, as is the bed linen and towels. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge. The sitting room has a double bed settee and a child’s bed, dvd and TV with Sky. WiFi is available. Downstairs shower room with toilet and hand basin. Upstairs is a double bedded room further child’s bed, en suite bathroom with toilet and hand basin. Also an airing cupboard with hanging space. Outside there is a fuel store with a freezer and room put muddy boots (and dogs!) an enclosed garden with barbeque, table and chairs.
Free range eggs, garden produce and homemade preserves may be available. A snack meal will be provided for your arrival and tea, milk etc. left ready for you.

Nestled in beautiful West Wales set in 12 acres of lush land with 6 acres of bluebell woodlands alongside the small River Bargoed; there are many special areas to wander for quiet moments of contemplation or play.
The accommodation available is a self contained cottage attached to our farmhouse and the renovated barn which is run on ecological principles. The hot water and all rooms are heated by a central thermal store, fed by the wood burner and solar panels. It will be part of your eco friendly experience to light and stock the wood burner!
